Massachusetts ex-offender and reentry agencies help former prisoners meet basic needs such as housing, employment, and social support. Services are free, and often also include substance abuse and mental health services, and HIV counseling and treatment.
Ex-offender programs offer specialized services to help Massachusetts residents with criminal records overcome barriers to finding employment and housing.

Your CORI is a record of all criminal cases where you appeared before a judge in a court in Massachusetts. Having a CORI record can cause many problems, especially when you are looking for a job or housing. It is important for you to know what is in your CORI, and to fix mistakes and seal records if possible. The Legal Advocacy and Resource Center Hotline (617-603-1700 or 1-800-342-LAWS) provides free help with CORI-related problems.
Anyone with a conviction for a sexual offense in Massachusetts, who is unclassified, or classified as a Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3 Sex Offender by the Sex Offender Registry Board, is included in the Massachusetts Sex Offender Registry. The public has access to SORI information for Level 2 and Level 3 offenders. People who commit sex offenses should get legal help to make sure their classification accurately represents how dangerous they are to the public and their likelihood of re-offense.
