Am I Eligible?

  • GENERAL ELIGIBILITY

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a cash assistance program for people who are 65 or older, or for people of any age, including children, who are disabled or blind. To be eligible, you must be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen.

  • FINANCIAL ELIGIBILITY

SSI is for people with limited income and resources. An individual may have up to $2000 in resources (cash, savings, etc.), and a married couple up to $3000. Some resources such as your home are not counted. Income limits vary depending on your category of eligibility, your family status (married, single, etc.), and your living arrangements. The higher your income, the lower your SSI benefits will be.
