  • GENERAL ELIGIBILITY

SNAP Food stamps are for U.S. citizens and eligible noncitizens who buy food and prepare meals to eat at home. People living in certain group living situations are also eligible.

  • FINANCIAL ELIGIBILITY

SNAP Food stamps are for households with low income. If your income is too high, you will not be eligible.

  • WORK REQUIREMENTS

Some adults must meet a work or community service requirement to get SNAP food stamps. Others do not have to meet this requirement. If you are required to work but you cannot find a job, or if you have good cause for not working, you can still get SNAP food stamps.
