  • One-Stop Career Center Ex-Offender Services

One-stop career centers are state-funded employment centers that offer job search assistance to Massachusetts residents. Services for ex-offenders include CORI assistance, federal bonding, career counseling, and other specialized services to help people with criminal records overcome employment barriers.

  • Dismas House and Father Brooks House

Dismas House is a supportive transitional group housing program for ex-offenders. Residents must follow house rules, work or attend school, pay a weekly fee, and take part in house activities and chores. Father Brooks House is permanent affordable housing for graduates of Dismas House and their families.

  • Moving Ahead Program (MAP)

The Moving Ahead Program (MAP) is a 14-week life skills and job readiness program for unemployed ex-offenders and other individuals with histories of substance abuse, homelessness, or mental illness. MAP helps ex-offenders change their outlook and behavior, develop positive relationships, and identify long-term goals. The focus of MAP's job training is to help ex-offenders start on a career path, not just find a stop-gap job.

  • STRIVE Boston Employment Service

STRIVE Boston is a non-profit job-readiness program that helps ex-offenders and other unemployed hard-to-place individuals find jobs and stay employed. STRIVE combines attitudinal adjustment, education and job training, support services, placement assistance, and long-term follow-up to reach its goals.

  • Local Ex-Offender Programs

Local ex-offender programs are smaller programs that serve residents of specific communities. Most programs provide a variety of services for ex-offenders, including employment, education, and other support services.
