What is the Breast and Cervical Cancer Treatment Program (BCCTP)?

The BCCTP is a health insurance program for women in need of treatment for breast or cervical cancer. This program offers MassHealth Standard coverage to certain women under 65 who do not otherwise qualify for MassHealth.

Am I eligible?

You may be eligible if:

• you are an adult under age 65
• you have been screened for breast or cervical cancer at a Women's Health Network site
• you have been found in need of treatment for breast or cervical cancer (or a precancerous condition) 
• your income is no greater than 250% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines (FPG). For dollar amounts, see MassHealth: What are the income limits? 
• you do not have insurance coverage for the cancer treatment you need; or you have Commonwealth Care, MassHealth Family Assistance, Basic, or Essential  
• you are not otherwise eligible for MassHealth Standard
• you meet the other eligibility requirements for MassHealth (residency and citizenship)

What benefits will I get?

You will get MassHealth Standard insurance coverage as long as you remain in cancer treatment. This coverage includes comprehensive medical care, not just cancer treatment. See MassHealth Standard.

You will get your benefits through the Primary Care Clinician (PCC) plan. (People taking part in the BCCTP cannot get benefits through a managed care MCO plan.) See MassHealth - How Do I Enroll?

There is no monthly premium for BCCTP participants with incomes at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Those with incomes between 150% and 250% of the FPG must pay a monthly premium, based on income. See MassHealth: What are the income limits?

How do I apply?

Call the Women's Health Network (WHN) toll-free at 1-877-414-4447 (TTY 617-624-5992) to find an enrollment site in your area. There are over 90 enrollment sites throughout Massachusetts. Then call your local site to set up an appointment.

Your WHN case manager will send your enrollment form to MassHealth. You will also need a Treatment Certification form from your doctor, estimating the length of your cancer treatment.
