Information for MassResources.org Web Site Users

MassResources.org: Privacy Policy and Terms of Use

Accuracy of content

MassResources.org is operated by Community Resources Information, Inc. (CRI), a non-profit, charitable (501c3) organization. CRI provides this web site as part of its mission to help families and individuals find the community resources they need to improve their lives. For more information about CRI, please visit the Community Resources Information, Inc. web site.

We at CRI make every effort to provide accurate information on this web site. However, due to the changing nature of eligibility requirements and other rules regarding assistance programs, we cannot guarantee that the information will always be correct. In addition, because the rules are often complicated, advocates, service providers, lawmakers, and others do not always agree on how the rules should be interpreted.

The Benefit Screener and Eligibility Checks on this site are screening tools to help you find out if you are likely to be eligible for benefit programs. Because these screening tools are designed to be easy to use, they sometimes make generalizations rather than taking every detailed rule into account. Therefore, especially if your situation is special, the feedback you get may be incorrect. To get an official eligibility decision, you must file an application with the agency in charge of the program.

If you believe that information on this web site is out-of-date, inaccurate, insufficient, or misleading in some way, please send us an e-mail so that we may look into correcting the possible error. Also please let us know if you believe that the feedback you got from our screening tools was not correct (for example, you think you are eligible, but the screening tool says you most likely are not).

External links

On some MassResources.org web site pages, we include links to external web sites that offer program applications, agency addresses and phone numbers, or other important information. These external web sites are created and maintained by other organizations. As a policy, MassResources.org only links to government or non-profit agency web sites that appear to provide current and unbiased information. We make every effort to check these links on a regular basis.

However, MassResources.org has no control over the format of external sites, the accuracy of their information, their viewpoints, or their privacy policies. Therefore, MassResources.org takes no responsibility for the content or legality of these external sites or any subsequent links. The external links on our web site do not constitute an endorsement or approval of the external sites or the organizations that control them. Any questions or comments about the content or policies of external web sites should be directed to the organizations in control of those sites.

Privacy policy

We take protecting your privacy very seriously and do not collect any personal information about you. We do not ask for your name, your address, or any other information that would identify you. Information you enter in our Eligibility Checks is only used to determine if you are likely to qualify for a particular benefit program, and is never read by anyone at MassResources.org or stored in any form.

We never sell or share your e-mail address if you sign up for our newsletter or give us your e-mail address for any other reason. In addition, we include an unsubscribe link in all our newsletters so that you may remove your e-mail address from our mailing list at any time.

Terms of use

We designed this web site to help you learn about the benefit programs and services available in your community and the likelihood of your being eligible for them. The information we provide is based on the rules, regulations, and policies of the benefit programs and their administrators. Because we are an independent organization, not affiliated with the government or other agency, we do not make official statements or rulings. Official determinations must come from the agencies in charge of the programs. In addition, we do not control how programs are run, or whether the benefits for which you are eligible are actually available to you.

MassResources.org offers Eligibility Checks and a Benefit Screener to help you find out if you are likely to qualify for benefit programs. If you use the screening tools, you should answer the questions accurately. If the information you enter is not correct, the feedback you get about your eligibility for benefits will not be valid. You should also be aware that the results you get here are unofficial, and that you must contact the agency in charge of the program to get an official eligibility decision.
